Maventa now supports company registration and invoice services for Iceland. This expansion brings a new Nordic country into our growing network, making it easier for selected partners to manage Icelandic business operations.
Registration requirements
When registering Icelandic companies, integrators must use the kennitala (IS:KTNR), a 10-digit legal entity identifier, for example 5902691070.
Validation is structural, confirming the identifier falls within the legal entity range and passes the check digit. National registry lookups are not performed at this time. Kennitalas of natural persons are rejected.
How to register
Currently, Icelandic companies can be registered exclusively through our SOAP or REST API. Icelandic companies cannot be registered through the Maventa user interface.
For partners with an approved customer authentication process of their own: register the company through the API and authorise it with the standard authorisation endpoints, as for any other country.
For partners using Maventa’s authentication process: Icelandic company registration is not yet available through Visma Sign, as customer authentication must be managed through your own approved process.
Your application’s vendor_api_key needs to be allowed to register Icelandic companies. Contact integration support at integrations@maventa.com.
Customer authentication
Maventa does not currently offer Visma Sign for Iceland. Partners with an approved customer authentication process must authorise Icelandic companies through the API using the standard authorisation endpoints:

Available services
Once registered and authorised, Icelandic companies have access to:
- Internal network traffic: Seamless sending and receiving within Maventa’s network
- Email invoicing: Reliable email delivery with our standard layouts
- Print services: Traditional invoice printing and postal delivery (printed in Finland and sent from Finland)
No VAT number is derived or required for Icelandic companies.
Limitations and roadmap
The following services are not yet available for Iceland:
- Peppol network registration and delivery: Not yet available for Icelandic companies
- Scanning services: AutoScan and DocScan are not available
- National registry checks: Kennitala validation is structural only; no live registry lookups are performed
