Enhanced Data Accuracy with Smartscan VERIFIED

AutoScan now includes support for the Smartscan VERIFIED feature, which introduces additional consistency checks and cross-validation across key document fields. This enhancement improves data accuracy by validating amounts, line items, and VAT information against each other to catch potential scanning errors or inconsistencies.

What is VERIFIED?

VERIFIED performs mathematical consistency checks across related fields on scanned invoices to ensure data integrity. For example:

• Line totals are validated against header totals
• VAT amounts are verified against base amounts and percentages
• Individual line items are checked for internal consistency

Verified Fields

The following fields are currently validated through VERIFIED:

Header Level Fields

• totalInclVat - Total amount including VAT
• totalExclVat - Total amount excluding VAT
• totalVat - Total VAT amount

VAT Distribution Fields

• percentage - VAT rate percentage
• amount - VAT amount
• inclVat - Amount including VAT
• exclVat - Amount excluding VAT

Purchase Line Fields

• totalInclVat - Line total including VAT
• totalExclVat - Line total excluding VAT
• totalAmount - Line total amount
• totalVat - Line VAT amount
• percentageVat - Line VAT percentage

Technical Changes

• Raw Smartscan API responses are now stored as smartscan_data.json attachment

This update provides better data quality assurance for PDF scanning, reducing manual corrections and improving straight-through processing rates.
